About Julie

Julie Crawshay is a Sydney-based client services professional, writer and brain cancer caregiver advocate. When her husband Nic was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM) — the most aggressive form of brain cancer — she turned more than twenty years of operations and research experience toward a single mission: translating peer-reviewed brain cancer research into clear, practical guidance for the families who need it most.

That mission became The Neuro Farmacist — an evidence-based resource hub for GBM families, spanning Instagram, Substack and a growing library of caregiver guides.

"Caregivers need to remember they are also people who deserve to cross finish lines."

Running for a cure

In 2024 Julie Crawshay ran the TCS Sydney Marathon for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, raising funds for the GBM AGILE global adaptive platform trial — finishing all 42.2 kilometres (race #50829, net time 4:31:47) with one thought carrying her across the line: her husband would have loved that race.

Why The Neuro Farmacist exists

When Nic was diagnosed, the gap Julie Crawshay faced wasn't in the science — it was in the translation. The Neuro Farmacist closes that gap: honest essays from the caregiver seat, evidence-based explainers on GBM and emerging trials, and practical resources for the road ahead. You are not alone in this.
